My older daughter (13) was aghast that it was Pi Day (3/14) and she didn't have any pie (she's eaten pie every Pi Day for the last few years). So she scoured the pantry and found enough ingredients to make her first pie (blackberry), pictured above.
It was delicious!
Happy Pi Day!

A great job, especially for her first pi making effort.
I expect there will be an extra specially round pie on 3/14/15, served at 9:26.
AM or PM?
Since I think of days as having 24 hours, neither.
The whole am-pm thing is extremely silly. What time is 12:00 am, noon or midnight?
And that is before considering how that introduces 8 ways of setting an alarm clock wrong.
Of course and you probably use the metric system too. :-)
She sent this picture to her math teacher who forwarded it to every kid in the the teacher's classes.
Now my daughter's nerdiness is legendary at her school. She received about 50 sarcastic text messages from classmates starting within minutes of when the email went out.
Oh well, being a bit nerdy is kinda cool at this school so it's not a big deal, but still a bit embarrassing for a 13-year old.
Genghis Khan's hordes had nothing on teenage girls for cruelty.
Until I had a daughter, I had absolutely no idea.
