Comments Feeds

Erp has now added a legible recent comments section and I'm sure The Daily Duck is close behind.

On my sidebar, there's a "Subscribe to Comments" link. I was going to describe to erp how to get that, but it's not really necessary. One can just type the comments feed URL into bloglines or whatever you happen to be using for your feeds.

For erp's new blog:

http://etrp.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default

For The Daily Duck:

http://dailyduck.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default

For Great Guys (if you don't want to right click on "Subscribe to Comments"):

http://greatguys.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default

For Thought Mesh:

Beats the heck outta me! Maybe aog can enlighten us.

Update: The instructions on how to use those comments feeds URLs above no doubt varies depending on which tool you're using to manage your feeds. I use bloglines so I can give instructions for that tool. To add a feed, I click on "add" under the feeds tab which brings up a dialogue that says "Blog or Feed URL:". That's where I paste the above URLs (one at a time) and then click on subscribe.

Where do I paste that line?

I pasted it in Bloglines and now the comments have disappeared from my blog?

They're baaaaaaaack?

Perhaps you had an Internet in the middle of your refresh that made it appear that your comments had disappeared? Bloglines can't actually modify your blog, I don't think.

Had an internet in the middle of your refresh?????

I recognize all the words, but can't decode the meaning.

Sorry, Internet dropout.

Bloglines will elide content from the feed after you've seen it. So if you double click on the feed, all the content will apparently disappear.

I'm coding as fast I can to get a comment feed for Thought Mesh. Real Life, unfortunately, is getting in the way.

bret, one more question, how can I find out who is visiting my blog?

I'm suing sitemeter and I can find out the location, but not the name.

I don't know how, or even if, you can get the actual names from sitemeter. Browsers don't inherently always know who's using them.

Thanks. I'll stop wasting anymore time on it then.

You could try Stat Counter. It doesn't list names (because that information doesn't exist), but it does generate neat little maps showing the geographic location of your visitors (mostly accurate).
